Monkey island is a series of adventure games. An adventure game is a game where it focuses mainly on the story.You need to solve puzzles, and if you get stuck there are always hints to help you out.

The first three games are :

The Secret Of Monkey Island

Where Guybrush Threepwood proves himself to three pirate captains on Melee island to become a pirate.On his journey he meets governor Elaine Marley and falls in love with her.At the same time the ghost pirate LeChuck is also in love with Elaine and Guybrush gets help from the Voodoo Lady to kill him

Where Guybrush, holding on to a rope with a treasure chest in his hand tells Elaine how he got there searching for Big Whoop, a famous treasure

The Curse Of Monkey Island.

Where Guybrush takes a ring(not knowing it had a curse on it)and proposes to Elaine. When she puts the ring on she turns into a statue.Guybrush asks the Voodoo Lady for a cure and she tells hem to find an uncursed ring which had a diamond of the same size

The main characters in these games are :

Guybrush Threepwood,the main character in the game who's always treasure hunting or saving Elaine from LeChuck.His main talent is holding his breath for ten minutes.He claims to be a mighty pirate which he is not even the slightest bit of.

Elaine Marley,the governor of melee island and Guybrush's Wife from MI 3 onwards

Stan,the guy who sells used merchandise such as ships,coffins and crypts

The Voodoo Lady,who helps Guybrush along his journey and appears in every game

and

LeChuck, the ghost pirate,zombie pirate,etc.He also loves Elaine and tries to take her away from Guybrush.

The other characters are

Murray, a skull who thinks he's the most fearsome thing on Earth

 

Mad Marty, A laundry guy who's deaf

 

The men of low moral fiber(pirates)and their pet rat

 

Otis,a guy who was in prison for some reason

Carla, a sword fighter, and Meathook who are part of your crew in MI 1

Van Helgen,a guy who plays the banjo,McMutton,a barber and Cutthroat Bill are your crew in MI 3

LeChimp,a monkey ship captain

Kenny,the lemonade guy with the bottomless mug policy

Blondebeard a chicken seller

Wally a cartographer who later becomes a pirate

Herman Toothrot a guy living on Monkey Island

and Largo LaGrande, LeChuck's right hand man

The games had some tough parts but most of it was easy.  For example, in MI 3 the part where you need to revert your size with the ice cream was illogical and I needed to use hints for it

In the games you can do what you can do in any adventure game you play, like interacting with items, talking with others and asking for hints.

There is one thing that there isn't in the other games and that is,Insult Sword fighting.In Insult Sword Fighting, the guy you're fighting says an insult and you need to answer with the correct response.For example if he says "You fight like a dairy farmer!" the response is  "How appropriate, you fight like a cow!". You get different insults and responses by fighting other pirates.

The graphics are cartoony in the later games and pixelated in the older ones.

I found the game fun because of Stan, Murray the demonic skull who wants to take over the world (my favorite character, by the way)and the overall ridiculousness of the game.

Many interesting things happened in the games. In MI 2,you nail down Stan in a coffin and in MI 3 he reappears out of the same coffin.In Tales Of Monkey Island (a later series of Monkey Island which is in 3D), Murray reappears when I had least expected it. I never thought that he would make an appearance. When you see him he's a skull as usual but you attach him on to a body later.

Monkey island was published by LucasArts.The designers ere Ron Gilbert,who also worked on maniac mansion,Tim Schafer, and Dave Grossman.

You will like the series if you like humoruos cartoons, pirates and adventure games.

 This is The origin forme of the renegade pokemon Giratina. It can be found in the distortion world where it watches the real world silently. It was banished by Arceus for its violence.  It is the mascot pokemon for Platinum version. To transform it into altered forme, you either have to remove the Griseous Orb or return to the normal world. It has the ability to travel in a dimension between time and space. it is a part of the creation trio representing antimatter.

This is the altered form of the renegade pokemon Giratina. It can be locate in turnback cave, found at the north of the sendoff spring. Turnback cave is a maze filled with fog and randomizes the rooms everytime you enter

Palkia spatial pokemon

Palkia’s body is mainly a shade of light purple, although it has stripes and markings of a darker shade and a grayish-colored arm underside and waist. It has round purple-striped plates on its shoulder area, where two pink pearls lie encrusted with a gray rim encircling them and fins in their back. Palkia’s arms have somewhat gauntlet-like extended formations and a purple band of coloration at the wrist. Palkia has a long neck, a pointed white crest on the top of its head that extends to its wings, two strong horn-like tusks on the sides of its jaw, and a powerful tail.Palkia has the ability to warp space.It is the spatial pokemon. It battles with Dialga and Giratina. It is the mascot pokemon for Pearl version

Dialga temporal pokmon

This is Dialga the temporal pokemon. It is a part of the creation trio (excluding Arceus) who controls time. It is the mascot pokemon for diamond version. It battles with Palkia and Giratina who are the other parts of the creation trio.

White Kyurem

This is White Kyurem From Back and White 2. White Kyurem has the powers of Reshiram and Kyurem, making it a fire, ice and dragon type. Kyurem, which has short arms becomes longer when fused with reshiram and the tail is also different.

Black Kyurem

This is Black Kyurem from Pokemon Black and White 2. Black Kyurm has the powers of Kyurem and Zekrom, which makes it an electric, ice and dragon type. Kyurem, which has short arms becomes longer when fused with zekrom and the tail is also different.

This is Captain Haddock from the Tintin books. Haddock is first  seen on the book "The Crab With The Golden Claws" and becomes one of the main characters in the later books. I drew this picture from the book "The Secret Of The Unicorn" where he reads Sir Francis Haddock's journal and acts it.
